Budgeting is hard. Some think it is restrictive. I have had friends that thought it was straining on their relationship.  Lindsey and I have been doing it faithfully for four straight years.  We have learned a ton.  I want to share seven reflections from last nights monthly budget committee meeting.

The church is slowly losing its influence and power.  Okay, maybe that is being to generous. The church as a whole might be cut in half in less than a quarter of a century.  Why?  I have a feeling it is how the church has become institutionalized.

Before I was in seminary getting a degree in ministry, I had a heart for serving people.  I truly loved helping people and trying to tell people about how Jesus had changed my life.  I started attending a church that had the philosophy that the only way to save people was to bring them into the church and have them come to the altar.   Continue Reading…
